Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large apples
    1/2 c. sliced cherries
    1 c. heavy whipping cream
    1/3 c. self-rising flour
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 stick margarine
    1 large can crushed pineapple, drained
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Sift flour and sugar together.
    Stir into cream (not whipped). Add pineapple.
    Cook in double boiler or thick pot.
    When thick, remove from heat.
    Add butter and cool.
    Peel and dice apples; add cherries and nuts, then stir in cooled dressing.
