Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    large head lettuce, shredded
    3/4 c. chopped celery
    1 can sliced water chestnuts
    1 pkg. thawed, uncooked peas
    2 bunches chopped scallions
    1 3/4 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar (over mayonnaise)
    6 oz. shredded Cheddar and Parmesan, mixed together
Preparation
    Fill bowl with lettuce, celery, water chestnuts, peas, scallions, mayonnaise, sugar and Cheddar and Parmesan cheese, mixed together, to cover the top.
    Cover with plastic wrap.
    Refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.
