Banana Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1/4 c. sour milk (buttermilk or add 1 tsp. vinegar to sweet milk)
    1 tsp. soda
    3 ripe bananas, mashed
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs one at a time.
    Mix milk, soda, bananas and vanilla.
    Add to mixture alternately with flour (1/3 at a time).
    Add chopped nuts.
    Pour into 8 1/2 x 11-inch pan or two 8-inch pans, greased and floured.
    Set aside.
