Quick English Toffee - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Preparation

Sprinkle nuts in buttered 9-inch pie plate.
In a heavy 1 1/2-quart saucepan, melt butter; add sugar.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, to 290\u00b0 on a candy thermometer (hard crack).
Pour toffee over nuts.
Sprinkle with chocolate pieces; when melted, spread with a spatula.
Cool.
Refrigerate to set chocolate.
Break into pieces.
Wrap and store in refrigerator.
