Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large fryer
    1 1/3 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Completely cover chicken with water and simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
    Debone chicken.
    Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening.
    Beat eggs; add milk.
    Turn out on board and knead until stiff.
    Roll out very thin and allow to dry for 1 to 2 hours.
    Cut into strips and drop in broth.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Simmer for 12 to 15 minutes.
