Pickled Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. beets
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 stick cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. allspice
    3 1/2 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. water from beets when cooked
Preparation
    Cook and skin beets.
    Add sugar, salt and spices tied in bag, to vinegar and water; simmer 15 minutes.
    Add beets and boil for 5 minutes.
    Pack beets into jars and cover with syrup.
    Seal.
