Grandma Varner'S Raisin Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c brown sugar
    3 c water
    1 tsp salt
    2 tsp cinnamon
    2 tsp cloves
    1/2 lb or 1 c of oleo or butter
    1 box raisins (or 2 1/2 to 3 cups)
    1 tsp baking soda
    5 - 6 tsp baking powder
    3 c flour
Preparation
    Mix sugar, water, salt, cinnamon, cloves, oleo and raisins together and boil for 5 minutes.
    Let cool to just warm (not hot). Add baking soda, baking powder and flour.
    (If not thick enough, add a little more flour.
    If you have to add more flour, use the 6 teaspoons of baking powder, not just 5.)
    Grease a large long pan with oleo and flour sides and bottom.
    Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hour.
