Ingredients

Your favorite pancake batter
1 tsp. plus a pinch poppy seeds
1/2 c. water
2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. butter
2 tsp. pure almond extract
Preparation

Add poppy seeds to your batter.
Bring water and sugar to a simmer and remove from heat.
Quickly stir in butter and almond extract.
Pour syrup over hot pancakes.
Experiment with different extracts in your syrup and different additives to your pancakes.
