Old Fashioned Cole Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large heads cabbage, shredded
    8 small onions, chopped
    6 red peppers, chopped
    2 1/2 pt. vinegar
    4 c. sugar
    2 tsp. dry mustard
    4 large carrots, shredded or chopped
    6 green peppers, chopped
    1/2 c. salt
    3 Tbsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Combine vegetables and cover with salt.
    Pack in earthen or stone jar and weight.
    Let stand at least 2 hours (or longer, may stand overnight.)
    Drain thoroughly.
