Ingredients

1 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 egg yolks
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. grated orange rind
1/4 c. butter, melted
3 egg whites
1 unbaked coconut or plain pastry shell
Preparation

Combine sugar, flour and salt.
Beat egg yolks slightly and add buttermilk, orange rind and melted butter.
Add sugar mixture, blending thoroughly.
Beat egg whites until stiff, then fold into buttermilk mixture.
Pour into pie shell and bake in moderate oven (375\u00b0) for 40 minutes, or until knife inserted near the edge of filling comes out clean.
