Perfect Peppermint Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box powdered sugar
    3 Tbsp. margarine, softened
    2 to 3 tsp. peppermint extract
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 c. evaporated milk
    2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    2 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    In a bowl, combine first four ingredients, then add milk and mix well.
    Roll into 1-inch balls and place on a waxed paper lined cookie sheet.
    Chill for 20 minutes.
    Flatten with a glass to 1/4-inch thick; chill for 30 minutes.
    In double boiler, melt chocolate chips and shortening.
    Dip patties; place on wax paper to harden.
