Crullers - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
4 c. sifted flour
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. cream
powdered sugar
Preparation

Cream the shortening and sugar together until thoroughly mixed.
Add eggs and beat well.
Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with cream to creamed mixture.
Mix thoroughly. Place dough on floured board and pat and roll to 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut into 6 x 1-inch strips.
Twist dough and press ends together.
Fry a few at a time in hot, deep fat (360\u00b0) until brown; drain.
Dust with powdered sugar.
Yields 2 dozen.
