Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening (1/2 butter or oleo)
2 c. applesauce
3 c. flour
1 c. raisins
1 c. dates
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts (if desired)

Preparation

Cream the shortening and sugar.
Add some flour, eggs, applesauce, raisins and dates rolled in flour.
Mix in all spices. If too thick, add water.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
