Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head lettuce, shredded
    1 c. diced celery
    1 c. thinly sliced Japanese cucumber
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, blanched
    2 c. mayonnaise
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1/2 lb. bacon bits
Preparation
    In a shallow salad bowl or 2-quart baking dish, layer all ingredients in the order given.
    Cover and chill several hours or overnight.
    Makes 6 servings.
