Grandma'S Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1/2 tsp. lemon extract
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    6 Tbsp. milk
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and extract.
    Beat well. Add remaining ingredients.
    Mix well.
    Chill for 1 to 2 hours. Shape into 1 1/4-inch balls.
    Place 2 1/2-inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 11 to 13 minutes or until lightly browned.
    Cool 1 minute on pan before removing to a wire rack.
    Yield:
    5 1/2 dozen.
    Freezes well.
