Caramel Chewies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick butter or margarine
    1 box light brown sugar
    2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Melt butter or margarine in saucepan. Remove from heat.
    Add sugar. Stir well. Do not use electric mixer!
    Add vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in flour and nuts.
    Mix thoroughly. Bake in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan for 18 to 20 minutes.
    Do not overbake.
    Cut into squares when cool.
    Store in airtight container.
