Pirate'S Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 lb. lean ground beef
    1 onion, chopped
    2 c. canned whole tomatoes
    2 tsp. salt
    2 c. canned kidney beans, drained
    1/2 c. chopped pimento
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. corn muffin mix
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
    In a large skillet, melt shortening. Add beef, onion and green pepper.
    Cook, stirring with a fork to break apart meat, until beef is brown and onion is tender.
    Add tomatoes and salt.
    Cook, covered, over low heat for 15 minutes. Add beans and pimento.
    Spoon mixture into a greased 2-quart baking dish.
