John Torrey - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 oz. uncooked elbow macaroni
    1/2 lb. extra lean ground beef
    1/2 green pepper, chopped
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    2 oz. low-fat Cheddar cheese, cut into pieces
    1/2 tsp. garlic, chopped
    1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
    1/2 tsp. chili powder
    1 (4 oz.) can chopped mushrooms, drained (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cook macaroni; drain.
    Spray skillet with a nonstick coating.
    Add ground beef, green pepper and onion. Saute until tender.
    Add remaining ingredients, including macaroni.
    Pour into casserole dish that has been sprayed with nonstick coating.
    Bake, covered, for 35 to 40 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
    (May add other spices that you like.)
    One serving: 1 cup.
    Calories per serving: 220.
    Exchanges: 1 medium fat meat, 1 1/2 starch and 1 vegetable.
