Orange Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 small or 2 large oranges
    1 tsp. salt or 1 tsp. soda
    1 c. water
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    3 c. flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    1/2 stick butter or oleo, melted
    2 eggs, well beaten
Preparation
    Cut oranges into eighths.
    Boil 5 minutes in 1 cup water with salt or soda.
    (This takes out the bitterness.)
    Drain and rinse. Scrape off white membranes and discard them.
    Cut peel into fine strips.
    Bring sugar and 1/2 cup water to boil; drop in orange peel strips and cook for 5 to 10 minutes, until thickens and makes syrup.
