White Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. milk
    1/2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 egg whites
Preparation
    Heat 1 1/2 cups milk with about 1/4 cup sugar, then mix rest of ingredients together and add to hot milk.
    Cook until thick; set aside to cool.
    Beat the egg whites until stiff; fold into cooled mixture.
    Pour into baked pie shell.
    Cover with whipped topping.
    Sprinkle lightly with nuts (optional).
