Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. Crisco
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. plain flour
    5 eggs
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. lemon or almond flavoring
Preparation
    Mix milk and baking soda together.
    Blend Crisco and sugar; add milk, flour and salt.
    Beat eggs in, one at a time.
    Add flavoring and beat well.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
    An old recipe and very good.
