Gingerbread Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 Tbsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 tsp. ginger
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. dark molasses
    1/2 c. strong coffee
Preparation
    Sift together flour, soda, baking powder, salt, ginger, and cinnamon.
    Cream shortening; add sugar gradually.
    Beat until light.
    Add egg and vanilla.
    Add molasses and coffee, then sifted dry ingredients; mix well.
    Chill.
    Roll out on lightly floured board to thickness desired.
    Cut with cookie cutter.
    Place about 1 inch apart on greased baking sheet.
    (Pam or vegetable spray works well.)
    Bake in hot oven at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes. Thinner cookies may not take as long to bake.
