Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 German chocolate cake mix
    1 stick margarine
    7 oz. sweetened condensed milk
    14 oz. caramels
    6 oz. chopped pecans
    6 oz. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix as directed.
    Pour slightly less than 1/2 of the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Melt butter, milk and caramels in top of a double boiler.
    Cool slightly, then pour over cake.
    Pour remaining cake batter over caramel.
    Top with pecans and chocolate chips.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    (Check with toothpick to see if top layer of cake is done.)
    It may take up to 35 minutes.
