Ingredients

3 whole eggs, separated
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
1 whole pie crust (9-inch; unbaked)
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Beat egg whites until stiff.
Set aside.
Mix together sugar and flour.
Add egg yolks, vanilla, butter and buttermilk and mix well.
Fold in egg whites.
Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake 5 minutes in preheated 425\u00b0 oven, then reduce heat to 350\u00b0 and bake until toothpick comes out clean, approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
