Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 medium garlic clove, minced
2 pieces celery (1 stalk)
1 medium green pepper, chopped
2 1/2 c. onion, chopped (1 c.)
2 slices bacon
30 oz. can tomato sauce
1 tsp. bay leaves, ground
1 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. hot pepper sauce
1/8 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 packet chicken bouillon (instant)
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/4 c. fresh parsley
1 1/2 lb. shrimp (medium)
Preparation

Saute bacon until fat begins to render.
Add onion, minced garlic clove, green pepper (diced) and celery stalks (cut in diagonal strips).
Saute until limp and golden.
Add tomato sauce, bay leaf, basil, salt, pepper, hot pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce, chicken bouillon, chopped parsley and sugar.
Simmer, partially covered, for 1 hour.
Add shrimp (shelled and deveined). Cook 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly, until shrimp are pink and firm.
Serve over rice.
Makes 6 servings.
