Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. diced potatoes
    1/2 c. diced carrots
    6 slices bacon
    1 onion, chopped
    1 c. sliced celery
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. milk
    2 c. half and half
    finely shredded Cheddar cheese
    parsley flakes
Preparation
    Cook potatoes and carrots in boiling water until tender. Drain.
    Fry bacon until crisp.
    Drain and crumble.
    Saute onion and celery in tablespoon of the bacon fat.
    Combine potatoes, carrots, sauteed vegetables, bacon, salt, pepper, milk and half and half.
    Simmer for 30 minutes, but do not boil.
    Garnish with cheese and parsley.
    Makes 2 quarts.
