Hamburger Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hamburger
    1 c. onions
    1 c. chopped potatoes or 1/2 c. rice
    1 c. chopped carrots
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 1/2 qt. water
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    pinch of basil
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. thyme
Preparation
    Brown meat and onions.
    Add vegetables and water. Boil 1 hour. Serve with sharp Cheddar cheese.
