Kraut-Kidney Bean Dish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. Crisco or oil
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. finely chopped onion
    2 c. (No. 2 tin) sauerkraut
    1 c. (No. 2 tin) kidney beans
    Polish sausage (optional)
Preparation
    Put Crisco or oil in pan.
    Add flour and cook until dark brown.
    This is a roux.
    Add onion and sauerkraut.
    Add kidney beans.
    Cook 1 hour; serve hot.
    Serve as side dish or cook with Polish sausage.
