Cracklin' Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. self-rising cornmeal
1/3 c. self-rising flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. pepper
3 eggs, beaten
1 c. buttermilk
1/3 c. milk
1 Tbsp. melted shortening
1 c. cracklings
Preparation

Combine dry ingredients.
Add eggs, buttermilk and milk; stir well.
Add shortening and cracklings.
Stir well.
Pour batter into a hot, greased 9-inch cast-iron skillet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
