Chicken Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. water
    1 fryer chicken
    2 medium potatoes
    1 medium onion
    2 bay leaves
    3 carrots
    3 celery stalks (optional)
    chicken bouillon cube (optional)
Preparation
    Boil (slowly) chicken in the water for 40 to 45 minutes. Remove chicken from water.
    Set aside on platter to cool.
    Skim top of the water and discard skimmings.
    Add vegetables to water (can be cut first if you wish) and bouillon cube.
    When the chicken has cooled, remove meat from bone and put back in water to simmer for 2 more hours.
