Sweet Chunk Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    pickles
    onions
    water
    sugar
    vinegar
    coarse salt
    dill sprigs
Preparation
    Slice washed pickles chunk-style.
    Slice onion and add both to salted water, enough to cover (1 gallon water to 1 cup salt).
    Soak overnight.
    In morning, drain off water.
    Bring fresh water to boil and pour over pickles.
    Let cool down.
    Drain.
    Using a solution of 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup vinegar, bring to boil.
    This is your brine.
    Fill jars with pickles, onions and dill sprig.
    Fill jars with brine.
    Add hot sealing caps and lids and tighten.
    Jars will seal on towel covered cupboard.
