French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 large onions
    1/2 c. butter
    4 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
    4 slices French bread
    Mozzarella and Swiss cheese
Preparation
    Cook onions in butter in frypan for 15 minutes.
    Place onions in crock-pot with water and salt.
    Cook on high for 3 hours.
    Put a slice of French bread into each of 4 ovenproof bowls.
    Pour soup on top.
    Cover with slices of Mozzarella and Swiss cheese.
    Broil in oven until cheese melts.
    Serves 4.
