Toffee Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter, softened
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg yolk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. whole wheat flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 pkg. chocolate
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Mix butter, sugar, egg yolks and vanilla.
    Stir in flour and salt.
    Press evenly in bottom of pan.
    Bake until delicately browned, 25 to 35 minutes (crust will be soft).
    Remove from oven; immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
    Let stand until soft; spread evenly.
    Sprinkle with nuts.
    While warm, cut into 2 x 1 1/2-inch bars.
    Yields 32 bars.
