Chili Verde - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. lean pork, cut into cubes
    2 tsp. shortening
    1 onion, chopped
    3 to 4 cloves garlic, minced
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, chopped
    4 (4 oz.) cans Ortega diced green chilies
    1/4 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. salt
    3 c. water
Preparation
    Mix flour and water to thicken.
    Melt shortening in large deep skillet.
    Brown meat thoroughly.
    Add remaining ingredients. Simmer, covered.
    Simmer, uncovered, 5 to 10 minutes to desired consistency.
