Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. water
red food coloring
6 medium apples
1/3 stick margarine
Preparation

Mix sugar and water and add a few drops of red food coloring. Boil 6 minutes.
Add apples, peeled if desired, quartered and cored.
Add margarine and cook until syrup is thick and apples are tender.
