May Day Strawberry Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. pineapple juice
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    4 c. sliced strawberries
    2 liters lemon-lime soda
Preparation
    In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water; heat almost to boiling, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
    Remove from heat; stir in the juices.
    Chill.
    In a blender, pure berries.
    Add to juice mixture; chill 30 minutes.
    Transfer to punch bowl; add soda.
    If desired, float additional strawberries on top.
