Old Fashioned Tea Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
3/4 c. shortening
5 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Combine flour, sugar and salt in a mixing bowl.
Make hole in center and add eggs, shortening, buttermilk, soda and vanilla. Mix together as you would biscuits.
Chill dough for 1 hour.
Roll 3/8-inch thick on generously floured board.
Cut with 3-inch cutter and bake at 425\u00b0.
Yields 6 to 7 dozen.
