Molasses Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 eggs, lightly beaten
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. lard or shortening
    1 c. molasses
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    2 Tbsp. hot water
    5 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients except the flour together.
    Then add the flour to make a stiff dough.
    Place part of the dough on a lightly floured pastry cloth.
    Knead dough to desired consistency.
    Roll out about 1/8-inch thick.
    Cut with cookie cutter.
    Place on floured cookie sheet in a 325\u00b0 oven until firm. Remove from sheet to wire rack immediately. Stores well in airtight container or in freezer.
