Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. boiling water
2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
1 c. sweet milk
2 eggs
6 Tbsp. flour
1 box dry coconut
Preparation

Mix sugar and flour together dry.
Add salt.
Mix boiling water and then add milk.
Separate eggs.
Add yolks to milk and sugar.
Cook in a double boiler until it begins to thicken.
Add butter, coconut and vanilla.
Stir constantly until thick enough for pie.
Pour into cooked crust.
Make meringue of whites, using 2 tablespoons sugar.
Put on top of pie and bake in a slow oven until brown.
