Baseball Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. stew meat
    salt and pepper
    5 potatoes, sliced
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 carrots, sliced
    1 (12 oz.) V-8 juice
    1 medium onion, sliced
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Put meat in greased 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.
    Add layer of onion, potatoes and carrots.
    Salt and pepper.
    Combine sugar, cornstarch and V-8 (shake).
    Pour over vegetables.
    Cover with foil.
    Bake for 4 hours at 250\u00b0 to 275\u00b0.
