Ingredients

3 c. cranberries
3 c. sifted flour
1 c. molasses
4 tsp. soda
2/3 c. water
2 tsp. sugar
2 eggs
Preparation

Cut cranberries in half and mix with flour.
Add molasses and mix.
Dissolve soda in water, then add to mixture.
Add sugar. Beat eggs and add to mixture.
This will be thick and sticky. Butter a 2-pound coffee can.
Put mixture in can.
Place covered can on a rack in a large kettle with water in the bottom.
Cover kettle and steam for approximately 2 hours.
