Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. strawberries
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    whipped cream or Cool Whip (optional)
    1 pie crust
Preparation
    Mash 1/2 of the strawberries in pot. Stir in cornstarch, lemon juice and sugar. Cook over mild heat, stirring until thick. Cool. Cut remaining strawberries in half or quarters and add to cooled mixture. Pour into precooked pie crust. Refrigerate. Add whipped topping, if desired.
