Snickers Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 German chocolate cake mix
    1 (10 to 12 oz.) pkg. caramels
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    6 oz. chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped peanuts
    Cool Whip
Preparation
    Mix cake according to package directions.
    Pour half of batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
    Bake 20 minutes at 350\u00b0.
