Nellie Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. butter or shortening
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. milk (approximately)
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    jelly or jam
Preparation
    Sift flour, sugar, salt, cream of tartar and baking soda.
    Cut shortening into dry mixture.
    Add milk to make soft dough.
    Roll out about 1/4-inch thick and spread with butter, then brown sugar. Roll up as for jelly roll; slice.
    Place in greased muffin pans. Add 1/2 teaspoon jelly
    or jam on top of each muffin. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
