Ingredients

2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. water
2 Tbsp. butter
3 beaten egg yolks
3 heaping Tbsp. flour
2 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Stir first 3 ingredients and cook until thick.
Add egg yolks, flour, milk and vanilla.
Add this to the syrup mixture and cook until thick; then cool.
Pour in baked 9-inch pie shell.
Top with meringue and bake until brown.
