Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 head lettuce
    1/2 c. onion, thinly sliced
    1/2 c. celery, sliced
    1 green, red or yellow pepper, sliced thin
    1 pkg. frozen peas
    1 c. mayonnaise
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. grated cheese
    6 slices bacon
Preparation
    In high sided glass bowl, layer veggies in order given.
    Top with frozen peas.
    Spread mayonnaise on top of peas, spreading to edge of dish to \"seal.\"
    Sprinkle with sugar.
    Top with cheese. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
    Before serving, cook, drain and crumble bacon on top.
