Kolaches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. melted shortening
    1/2 c. cool water
    3 1/2 c. flour
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk, scalded
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. warm water
Preparation
    Mix sugar and shortening to milk; stir, then add cool water. Add yeast, which has stood in warm water for 5 minutes.
    Add egg and flour; beat.
    Let rise until double in size.
    Knead down and then make Kolaches.
    Let rise a few minutes before adding fruit. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Use any kind of fruit.
    When slightly cooled, drizzle with powdered sugar, mixed with a little milk or cream.
