Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. cucumbers
    2 c. lime
    2 gallon water
    2 qt. white distilled vinegar
    4 1/2 lb. sugar
    1 Tbsp. plain salt (non iodized)
    2 Tbsp. whole pickling spice
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers.
    Mix 2 cups of lime, into 2 gallons of water and soak cucumbers for 24 hours.
    Rinse cucumbers well at least 4 times to remove all traces of lime.
    Cover cucumbers with ice at least 1 to 2 inch thick layers of ice on top and let set until the ice melts.
    Allow the cucumbers to drain off all excess water.
