Chocolate Cake To The Max - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter, softened
    3 eggs
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    3/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 recipe Chocolate-Sour Cream Frosting
    white and dark chocolate shavings (optional)
Preparation
    Allow butter and eggs to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, lightly grease bottoms of 3 (8 x 1 1/2-inch) round cake pans. Line bottoms of pans with waxed paper. Grease and lightly flour bottoms and sides of pans (or grease one 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan); set pans aside.
