Braised Pork Chops And Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 6 pork chops (about 3/4 to 1 inch thick)
    1 Tbsp. olive oil
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. chicken broth or dry white wine
    1/2 tsp. dried thyme, crushed
    4 Rome Beauty apples or other cooking apples, cored and sliced
    2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
Preparation
    Brown pork chops in oil on both sides until golden brown in a large skillet.
    Pour off fat.
    Sprinkle chops with salt and pepper.
    Add broth and thyme; reduce heat to low.
    Cover and simmer for 50 minutes, spooning pan liquid over chops occasionally.
    Add apples.
    Cover and cook 5 to 10 minutes longer or until done.
    Garnish with parsley, if desired.
    Yields 4 to 6 servings.
